Every one of those businesses is proving best-practice in their field.

Hygge Eco Cabins – Ecotourism Certified
Ngarigo, Walgalu, Southern Ngynnawal and Bidawal Country/East Jindabyne, NSW

This small, family-owned eco-cabin village provides a beautiful 270° view of lake and mountain scenery. Located on the picturesque Lake Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales, these 10 cabins are currently being constructed and designed with eco products and sustainability in mind every step of the process. Sustainability will also be implemented in the daily practice of operating the accommodation.

At Myall River Camp, glamping tents, tiny houses and an off-grid campsite ensure an immersive stay in nature. The Camp at Hawks Nest on the Barrington Coast of Northern NSW is a great place to explore and experience wildlife, if you’re lucky you may even spot a pod of river dolphins that swim by in the river. By optimizing their use of natural resources and dedicating over 60% of their land as a conservation area, Myall River Camp is committed to eco-consciousness and environmental protection.

Splitters Farm – Advanced Ecotourism and Climate Action certified
Taribelang Bunda, Gooreng Gooreng, Gurang and Bailai Country/Bundaberg, QLD

The animal sanctuary and working cattle farm can be visited as a self-guided experience every day of the week or as a guided farm tour on the weekends. Located in ECO Destination Bundaberg, QLD, young and old can enjoy this natural oasis and visit the home of wallabies, platypus, barramundi, prehistoric lungfish and more than 150 documented species of Australian birdlife. Splitters Farm shows its high level of dedication to sustainability through many initiatives and best practices, like the replantation of native vegetation to attract more wildlife and restore the natural bushland.

 

Great Keppel Island Hideaway – Ecotourism Certified
Darumbal, Woppaburra and Barada Kalbalbara Yetimarala Country/Great Keppel Island, QLD

In the middle of the Great Barrier Reef on the Capricorn Coast, Great Keppel Island Hideaway welcomes visitors to explore the pristine beaches and crystal-clear water. Adventurers as well as leisure travellers can choose between different accommodation types: from beachfront bungalows to eco-friendly studio apartments. After a day of bushwalking or water activities, they can enjoy a dining experience with local products and exquisite seafood. On board their custom-built vessel Yemalla, Dive Spear and Sport @1770 operates eco-conscious Southern Great Barrier Reef Day Trips from Agnes Waters in the Gladstone region. The whole team shares a deep passion for the protection of the Great Barrier Reef, which guides them to minimise their impact while maximizing the positive outcome of their activities.

Bells at Killcare has implemented different sustainable practices, like owning a CLOSED LOOP organic food composter that turns food waste to compost overnight with the help of natural microbes and heat.
