Sustainability Commitment

1770 LARC! Tours is one of the founding ecotourism operators in the Southern Great Barrier Reef Region. Since 1994 their interpretive guides have showcased the beauty of nature and educated guests about the importance of preserving and protecting reef ecosystems. Minimising carbon emissions from their vessels is LARC! Environmental Tours’ biggest challenge and they are overcoming it by developing a new drive system that will use less fuel, generate fewer emissions and decrease their already low carbon footprint. They plan to convert their entire fleet of LARC! vessels to this drive system, while fostering and supporting new ECO-certified tourism operations in the Southern Great Barrier Reef through consultation.
