Sustainability Commitment

Australian Luxury Escapes has always been a pioneer in Eco Tourism. When the company started in 1988, we always used reusable drinking cups, stainless steel cutlery, and glass crockery for our guests' meals, even though it was unfashionable at the time. Our guides have always been encouraged to collect rubbish if they see it on the ground and dispose of it appropriately. With 130,000 tonnes of plastic used in Australia entering our ocean each year, we felt strongly that as a company we needed to reduce our carbon footprint and continue to make a difference. So in 2020 we also eliminated single-use plastic bottles across our fleet and our guests now receive an infinitely 100% recyclable aluminium bottle that they can re-use over and over. These small changes are one of many that we have implemented over the past 30 years to keep Australia clean and beautiful.

This fantastic Ecotour begins at your hotel and the historical Rocks area of old Sydney.
Heading across the western plains of Sydney metropolitan we make our way to the Great Dividing Range of Australia. It is here we leave the ‘average’ Blue Mountains tourist behind and enter the National Park to unlock a piece of Australia you would never have known existed.

We visit ancient Aboriginal sites and outstanding lookouts, examine rock formations and the unusual plants and wildlife that abound the area.
From the quaint little village of Leura we skirt around Cliff Drive to Katoomba where you will find yourself looking out over the magnificent Jamieson Valley and the Three Sisters.

We enjoy a delicious barbecue lunch including a selection of fine Australian wines and cheeses under the canopy of the Australian bush.
Before returning to Sydney we drop into a hidden valley where we roam the area, seeking out the many kangaroos that graze in the wild (conditions permitting).
Reluctantly we leave the National Park passing by the Olympic 2000 site, arriving at your hotel around 5.30pm

The Daintree Wanderer Tour

Departing your accommodation on this amazing Daintree day tour, we travel through the rich farming areas toward the World Heritage listed forest region of the Daintree National Park. We step aboard our own personalised craft for a cruise on the mirrored smooth waters of the Daintree River. We cruise close to riverbanks and under the overhead canopy of the rainforest seeking out the vivid Ulysses Butterfly, Kingfishers, Pythons and other wildlife. The cruise takes us through silent backwaters where crocodiles can normally be seen basking on the muddy banks.

Arriving on the northern side of the river we enter the Daintree section of the Wet Tropics World Heritage protected rainforest. Enjoy a home-made morning tea underneath the rainforest canopy.

Next, our journey takes us up the beautiful Alexandra Range passing through local rainforest and on to our first stop, where we take a scenic walk through this amazing eco system. Immerse yourself inside protected forests as we take you on a guided walk to view ancient plants and amazing wildlife.
