Sustainability Commitment
Cape Tribulation Horse Rides is committed to operating a sustainable business. Operating in an amazing and pristine environment like the Daintree National Park, we hold great value in preserving the environment for future generations. We aim to educate our guests on the ecological significance of the areas that we visit and promote environmental conservation while having as minimal an impact as possible. This is easy to achieve with the extensive knowledge of our staff during our tours. There is a constant flow of information throughout our tours which allows for further discussion and understanding of the unique areas we visit. We have incorporated climate change interpretation into our tours, to educate guests on the direct impacts of climate change in the local areas and the efforts made by the local communities to adapt to the changing environment. We also provide tools and strategies that our guests can adopt, as travellers, to reduce their carbon footprint. We have and follow Environmental Best Practices Initiatives that help us maintain our environmental sustainability. This includes initiatives for energy consumption and management, environmental awareness, waste re-use and recycling, as well as a minimal impact policy. We have reporting policies in place for injured wildlife, as well as environmental damage whether it is man-made or naturally occurring. We are updating our environmental risk management policy annually, as well as our climate change risk assessment and emission reduction planning. Cape Tribulation Horse Rides Environmental Aims and Objectives • Contribute to the conservation objectives of Daintree National Park • Ensure compliance with all environmental legislation and requirements • Identify and minimise all possible environmental risks associated with the operation of Cape Trib Horse Rides • Ensure there are no long term environmental or cultural impacts from the operation of Cape Trib Horse Rides • Reduce contributions to greenhouse gas emissions and improve resilience and adaptation to climate change • Educate tourists travelling to the Daintree and how to reduce their impact by developing their appreciation and understanding
