Capes Foundation, a division of the Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association (MRBTA), manages seven incredible natural and heritage attractions in the Margaret River Region – both above and below ground! Our tours descend into spectacular crystal caves, fly through a forest of giant tuart trees, or climb up historical lighthouses to view the endless rugged seascapes.

Sustainability Commitment

Some of our ecotourism initiatives include, use of LED 12 volt lights in all of our Caves; the use of Solar Power at one site, with plans to roll out to others; harvesting of rain water; on site nursery and communications with staff and customers about ways to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse Fully-Guided Tower Tour

Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse guided tours take visitors to the top of the tallest lighthouse on mainland Australia where a vast seascape unfolds and the Southern and Indian Oceans meet. Visitors can also explore the Lightkeepers’ Cottage Interpretive Centre, an immersive experience that celebrates the history and lives of the men, women and children who once lived at the tallest lighthouse in mainland Australia. Between May and September, whales are often seen from the tower as they migrate along the coastline.

Mammoth Cave Self-Guided Audio Tour

Mammoth Cave self-guided tours allow visitors to explore at their own pace while listening to a fascinating audio tour available in English, French, German, Malay, or Mandarin. When you enter the cave, you’ll realise just how much there is to see here. Over 10,000 fossils had once accumulated inside the cave and many of these were found to be remains of Australian Megafauna that became extinct around 46,000 years ago. A visit to Mammoth Cave finishes with a marri forest walk, an excellent place to discover the region’s unique wildflowers in winter and spring.

Lake Cave Fully-Guided Tour

Lake Cave is a magnificent chamber deep beneath the earth’s surface. Visitors descend a staircase through a spectacular ancient sinkhole called a doline, gazing up at the towering karri trees from the floor of the sunken forest. A tranquil lake inside the cave reflects the delicate crystal formations on the ceiling above.

Ngilgi Cave Semi-Guided Tour

Set above ground at Ngilgi Cave, Ancient Lands Experience is an interactive journey along an accessible pathway meandering through scenic native bushland, telling stories of the ancient landscape, cultural connection and native flora and fauna. Arriving at the entrance to Ngilgi Cave, prepare to be awestruck as you descend into the heart of the cave, where a self-guided adventure awaits. You will stand in wonder before majestic stalactites, stalagmites, helictites, and beautifully coloured shawls and be enlightened by the presence of a passionate guide stationed in the main chamber ready to share their wisdom

Jewel Cave Fully-Guided Tour

As you step into Jewel Cave, prepare to be captivated by a dazzling display of nature’s most intricate and beautiful work. Jewel Cave is the largest show cave in Western Australia and is also home to one of the longest straw stalactites found in any tourist cave in Australia. Fully guided one-hour tours unveil the breathtaking magnitude of three immense chambers decorated with towering crystal creations, delicate stalactites, stalagmites, helictites, and beautifully coloured shawls that have taken thousands of years to form.

Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse Fully-Guided Tower Tour

Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse guided tours offer fascinating insights into the region’s extraordinary maritime history and the functions of a working lighthouse. An easy climb of just 59 steps, visitors to the tower balcony are rewarded with panoramic coastal views. The Lightkeepers’ Museum provides an immersive experience where visitors can explore the stories and experiences of the lightkeepers and their families through interactive technology and remarkable artifacts.

Forest Adventures South West Ropes

Forest Adventures is a high rope adventure park in the beautiful Ludlow Tuart Forest, 10 kilometres north of Busselton. With 77 activities spread over six exciting courses combining rope and wire challenges of varying height and difficulty. With world-class European standards for safety and design, visitors can take fun to the highest peak and enjoy a safe and rewarding experience.
