At Catninga we try to be as eco friendly as possible with our Solar Panels feeding back to the grid, collection of rainwater for all household use, and recycling rubbish to save on landfill. Our free range chooks happily supply us with farm fresh eggs in return for kitchen scraps. Visitors can be assured that we are trying our best to be more self-sustainable, and reduce our footprint into the future.

Catninga Mountain Hut

Rustic mountain hut accommodation near the summit of Mt Brown right on the Heysen Trail. Sleeps four comfortably in 2 beds and 2 fold up beds. Hut has old wood stove for warmth & or cooking, kitchen sink, cutlery/crockery, attached bathroom with flushing toilet and camp (canvas) shower. Outside has fire ring and outdoor setting.

Catninga Camp Sites

Choose your private/secluded camp site & relax around the campfire. Feel part of nature as the local kangaroos and Emus wander past your campsite. Enjoy bush walking and trekking, bird watching or just relaxing. Wake up to the sunrise bursting over the Flinders Ranges and retire to the magnificent glowing sunset sinking into a the western sky. Campsites range from secluded bush camps to River Red Gum studded creek sites.

Catninga 4x4 ridge top tour & walking tour

4WD guided scenic tour for half day or extend to include a leisurely lunch stop at the "Catninga Mountain Hut" at the top of the scenic track. From easy drive, to more challenging tours with spectacular views of the Finders Ranges overlooking the beautiful Spencer Gulf. Walk through rugged gorges with amazing rock formations and majestic gum creeks abundant with native flora and fauna. While walking the ridge-tops, watch wedge-tailed eagles playing in the updrafts. The views are breathtaking.
