Sustainability Commitment

Entrada Travel Group is committed to making conservation and sustainability an operational priority. Entrada will use the elements of environmental and climate change management to direct product development towards ongoing sustainability and preservation of the working environment, with a commitment to reducing environmental impacts. The Group is involved in, and contributes to, the development of standards and regulations throughout the marine tourism industry. Entrada works together in partnership with key stakeholders to achieve the best environmental outcomes. This includes a commitment to the Precautionary Principle, meaning that Entrada will change products, facilities, or activities, where possible, to avoid real or potential impacts on the environment and climate by lowering emissions and operating to efficient levels. Entrada Travel Group is focused on educating and training staff and will facilitate staff training to help motivate them to care for the environment, be aware of the impacts of climate change and to develop a strong sense of stewardship for the marine environment. Entrada Travel Group supports and is an active partner with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority in the Eye on the Reef Program. Eye on the Reef is a reef monitoring and assessment program that contributes to the long-term protection of the Great Barrier Reef by collecting valuable information about reef health, marine animals, and incidents. The Group also employs qualified Master Reef Guides and several marine biologists that lead the development and facilitation of environmental educational products and tutorials. Entrada Travel Group continuously strives to reduce emissions and waste generated by its business, including research and use of cleaner production principles to prevent pollution, maximise resource efficiency and minimise waste. The group monitors performance and reviews and improves its environmental performance through research and audits, including reviewing its Environmental Policy and adopting necessary changes as required. One of the key goals of the Sustainability Commitment is management and minimising the company’s environmental footprint. Entrada Travel Group's commitment to the conservation of the Great Barrier Reef is underpinned by the Advanced Ecotourism Operator and Climate Action accreditations held by Tusa Reef Tours and Spirit of Freedom. This is the highest eco certification attainable in Australia and is assurance of the Group’s contribution to the conservation of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and the rich heritage that can be passed to future generations.
