Explore Australia Tour's vision is to create an innovative and professional tour company that offers itineraries in a quirky and quintessential Australian way creating stories along the way whilst treading the path less followed. We take our commitment to the environment seriously. Explore Australia Tours prides itself on incorporating the ethics of sustainable tourism by: - Greenfleet Carbon Offsetting - we have partnered with Greenfleet to offset our carbon emissions through their native reforestation program. - Reduce, reuse, recycle – We embrace responsible tourism through the following initiatives;- Smaller groups have less of an environmental impact when they travel, our group size is a maximum of 21 - E-voucher/tickets are the preferred form of check-in on tour - Our office uses a software print management system to help reduce wasteful printing - Our brochures are printed on recycled paper made from disposable coffee cups called extract - All cartridges are recycled through the Planet Ark’s cartridge recycling program - Office light bulbs have been switched to LED - Power off policy when leaving the office. All staff are educated to turn off lights and power to computers prior to leaving the office - Cloud-based system - google drive is used to share company collateral rather than printing - Lightening our Eco Footprint: We keep our tour groups small which reduces the strain on resources and allows for more sustainable economic benefits to filter through to local economies such as French Island. All our guides are instructed to ensure minimal environmental impact, and to provide accurate interpretation, and keeping wildlife disturbance to a minimum by viewing from appropriate distances and informing our guests how to view wildlife with patience and respect. Activities are always confined to tracks and boardwalks to minimize negative impacts. Accessibility At Explore Australia Tours we believe that experiencing the hidden gems of regional Victoria should be open and accessible to everyone. Guests requiring particular needs are welcome aboard Explore Australia Tours along with a companion who is able to provide all necessary assistance. Our vehicles are modern, deluxe, airconditioned mini-coach with comfortable seating and large windows for maximum viewing pleasure. The vehicle takes a maximum of 21 guests these are not modified to be wheelchair accessible however we are able to cater for guests who are mobile to manage two steps onto the vehicle unassisted or accompanied by a companion who is able to assist. For safety reasons, we are only able to store fully collapsible wheelchairs or walkers on board. All tours are designed to suit all types of people and fitness levels, all of our tours cater for low to medium levels of fitness, guests must be able to: - Participate in guided or unguided small walking tours at a relaxed pace - Walk on mostly level ground - Get on and off transportation unaided - Walk confidently on bush tracks and soft sand – mostly level ground - Stand for 15 minutes without needing to sit down - Tackle an incline or a number of stairs - We can cater to several specific dietary requirements where food is included as part of the tour. To ensure these specific dietary needs are met we require this information at the time of booking or at least 48 hours prior to the tour departure. At Explore Australia we are more than happy to accommodate children, however, some restrictions may apply. Children are welcome on all-day tours, and we recommend that people traveling with children consider whether the itinerary is suitable, in particular, the activities involved and the duration of the tour to ensure the comfort of small children. Child rates are available for ages 0 – 15 years with children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Booster seats can be provided;however, these must be pre-booked at least 72 hours prior to the tour departure date. No prams are permitted inside the vehicle as our vehicles do not have storage space.
