Fitzroy Island is a tropical paradise of rainforest and beaches within the calm sheltered waters of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, just 45 minutes on the Fitzroy Flyer from Cairns.

Fitzroy Island Resort is an affordable modern resort that offers a range of accommodation including Suites, Studios and Beachside.

Facilities include a waterfront restaurant, pool with swim up bar, “FISH” sports hire and dive centre, a general store, and the beachside Foxys Bar.

Activities include snorkeling, SCUBA diving, glass bottom boat tours and daily Turtle Talks. Enjoy the complimentary resort guest activity program with fish feeding from the jetty or join one of our Guides for bush walks, marine talks or daily kids’ activities.

Explore, the islands 5 National Park walking trails ranging from an easy rainforest walk to Nudey Beach or a challenging hike up to the Summit for a magnificent view! The island is home to the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre and the Reef Restoration Foundation Coral Nursery.

We are lucky to have such a beautiful home on the Great Barrier Reef;few islands are as naturally captivating as Fitzroy Island. This is why Fitzroy Island Resort is committed to minimising our ecological impact on the environment around us. Rubbish is removed from the island while an onsite sewerage treatment plant treats all waste products. Water samples are sent weekly to an environmental clinic in Cairns to ensure we are having no impact on the environment around us;this includes monitoring our spring water intake to ensure we are not using more than our share! But Fitzroy Island Resort is taking it one step further. We actively use our influence to generate positive changes to the ecosystem;not just around the island here but all along the coast by working with select organisations that are determined to make a change for the better.
