Absolute Outdoors and Grampians Peaks Walking Company is an award winning adventure tourism company running a range of activities for individuals and groups within the Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park and our Halls Gap hiker store. We help people experience the 168,000+ hectares of the Park, listed on the Australian National Heritage List for its significant Aboriginal cultural heritage, flora and fauna diversity, landscapes and protection of threatened species. The region has been home to the Djab Wurrung and Jardwardjali people for 20,000 years and contains the densest concentration of rock art paintings and the largest assemblage of Aboriginal art motifs in Victoria.

We are a Licenced Tour Operator with Parks Victoria, and were named a Gold Winner of the 2021 Victorian Tourism Awards in the Adventure Tourism category. These accreditations demonstrate that we follow practices that result in experiences that are reliable, consistent, predictable, and sustainable;we are “committed to creating high quality, engaging, and memorable visitor experiences that address the changing global trend of experiential tourism.” We more than offset our carbon emissions with Greenfleet Australia. This helps restore native forests and ecosystems, which provide crucial habitat for endangered wildlife, help counter the devastating impact of the bushfires, and reduce the impacts of climate change.

The Northern Expedition is a 4 day/3 night journey on the Grampians Peaks Trail that immerses guests in the Northern Grampians – by far, the most dramatic part of the Gariwerd Landscape. Its dry, sandy gullies and valley floors are dominated by huge rocky outcrops and the biggest sheer sandstone cliffs found anywhere in the Grampians.

Northern Huts Walk
The Northern Huts Walk is a 3-day/2-night journey that traverses the Mount Difficult range in the Northern Grampians. Using the on-trail ‘signature hiker camps’ guests get to experience an uninterrupted journey without having to sleep on the floor in a tent. On-trail 4-berth hiker huts provide protection from the elements, comfortable mattresses, LED lighting, and plenty of room to keep their life organised.
Central Expedition
The Central Expedition is a 5 day/4 night journey that tackles some of the most remote, exposed, and inaccessible sections of the Grampians Peaks Trail, but some of the most rewarding. The Central Grampians features some of the most recognised features in the National Park, including Mount Rosea, Venus Baths, the Grand Canyon, the Pinnacle Lookout, and Mount William.

Southern Expedition
The Southern Expedition is a 5 day/4 night journey that traverses the previously untracked southernmost reaches of the Mt William Range toward Dunkeld. Through ancient open forests and grasslands, the trail leads us towards the most spectacular vantage points of Gariwerd from the summits of Signal Peak, Mount Abrupt, and Mount Sturgeon.
