High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm
High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm is a 140-acre regenerative agriculture farm situated 10 km from Yeppoon on the Capricorn Coast in Central Queensland. The farm features a thriving 2-acre market garden, a 2-acre food forest and a 1.5-acre ‘Bush Tucka’ (native edible plant) orchard, all established according to regenerative agriculture principles, which emphasise working in harmony with natural systems to create abundant food sources whilst improving the local ecosystem. Together, the gardens and orchards host over 1,000 species of edible and medicinal plants from all around the world. The farm also has a range of holistically managed livestock such as cattle, pigs, sheep, chickens, ducks and horses.
We invite the general public to visit the farm, see regenerative agriculture principles in action, learn about permaculture, sustainability and off-grid living, sample our organically grown produce, and experience our farm-to-table dining experience at our nearby restaurant.
There is a conference room for team-building workshops, and educational workshops and events.
We also invite people who want to learn about permaculture and self-sustaining community-living to live and work with us as part of our volunteer program.

Sustainability Commitment
At High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Our mission is to cultivate a thriving ecosystem that harmonizes with nature, supports our community, and promotes environmental stewardship. Here’s how we embody our commitment to sustainability: Sustainable Operations We employ permaculture principles that focus on creating self-sustaining agricultural systems. Our farming practices include: Organic Farming: We avoid synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, opting for natural alternatives that enrich the soil and protect biodiversity. Water Conservation: Implementing rainwater harvesting, drip irrigation, and swales ensures efficient water use and preservation of this precious resource. Renewable Energy: Solar panels power our operations, reducing our carbon footprint and reliance on non-renewable energy sources. Environmental and Cultural Responsibility High Valley Dawn is dedicated to preserving the natural and cultural heritage of our region. We: Biodiversity Protection: Cultivate a variety of native plants and maintain habitats for local wildlife, fostering a rich and diverse ecosystem. Soil Health: Use composting, cover cropping, and minimal tillage techniques to enhance soil fertility and structure, promoting long-term agricultural sustainability. Cultural Preservation: Honor indigenous knowledge and practices, integrating them into our farming methods and sharing this wisdom with our community. Contributions to Conservation, Community, and Climate Change Action Our farm is more than just a place of production;it’s a community hub for education, conservation, and climate action: Education and Outreach: We offer workshops, farm tours, and volunteer opportunities to educate the public about sustainable agriculture and permaculture design. Local Food Systems: By providing fresh, locally grown produce, we reduce food miles and support the local economy, promoting food security and resilience. Climate Action: Through regenerative farming practices, we actively sequester carbon in our soils, mitigating climate change and contributing to a healthier planet. High Valley Dawn Permaculture Farm is committed to creating a sustainable future where agriculture coexists with nature, communities thrive, and the environment flourishes. Together, we are cultivating a legacy of sustainability for generations to come.
