Horizon Guides provides professional guided bushwalks in the Scenic Rim region of Southeast Queensland and beyond. In addition to regular day hikes conducted locally between April and November each year, the company offers limited departures of bushwalking holidays interstate; including Victoria’s Great Ocean Walk and in Tasmania’s National Parks. Sharing the beauty of wild places with people is the principle aim of Horizon Guides.

Private Bushwalking Guide Service

Horizon Guides offers the opportunity for clients to negotiate a tailor made bushwalking experience based on the specific requirements of an individual or small group. The Scenic Rim area offers many opportunities to explore diverse landscapes on hikes from a few hours of environmental / geological interpretation to full challenging day hikes requiring a high level of fitness and walking experience.

Guided Day Hikes

Each year Horizon Guides offers a series of day hikes in the Western Scenic Rim of SE Qld. Scheduled on every second or third Sunday between March and October, the hikes aim to connect particpants with this rugged and scenic region. Hikes generally increase in difficulty over the season allowing participants who regularly join the walks to develop bushwalking skills and improve fitness. Environmental interpretation is integral to all walks and participants are encouraged to become keen observers and learn about the many aspects of the region.
Numbers are strictly limited to a group of ten adults.

Extended Walking Holidays

Horizon Guides also conducts walking tours in Tasmania and Victoria. These are accommodation based and include transport and meals. Tours of a week to ten days are offered on a periodic basis in the spring and summer months when walking conditions in Queensland become too hot.
We are also very happy to tailor-make extended walking tours for private groups both in Queensland and interstate.
