Innamincka Hotel
At the Innamincka Hotel we have the only locally operated tours, they include a 1Hr, 2Hr cruise on the beautiful Cooper Creek and waterhole as well as a sunset cruise. We also offer a range of land based tours which include visiting the landmarks and memorials from our ill-fated explorers Burke and Wills. You can do all of this while staying in our modern motel rooms on site. We are referred to as an Oasis in the Desert.

Sustainability Commitment
At Innamincka we have adopted a tread lightly approach to all of our operations. We strive to reduce, re-use and recycle and we encourage our staff, visitors and contractors to do the same. We are committed to sustainable tourism and preserving the outback’s natural beauty, wildlife and environment for future generations Some of the ways that we are working towards the future are; • The instillation of a 200 KW solar system comprising of 774 solar panels and 144 storage batteries that provides 60% of our energy needs. • The accommodation has been designed with the harsh environment in mind, there is design features that make the rooms more energy efficient. • Native flowering plants have been used where possible to provide shade and attract local fauna. • Recycled paper products are used throughout all operations. • Use of environmentally friendly recognized cleaning products • We recycle all glass, plastic, aluminium cans and cardboard. • Kitchen scraps are utilized as feed for the worm farms (producing natural fertilizer) and in composting. • Interpretation material for education is provided through all operations.

Cruises & Tours
The Innamincka Hotel runs a cruise on the Cooper Creek and land-based tours out to Malkumba – Coogie Lakes National Park, and also the early explorers’ sites and memorials. These regions have a high cultural bond with the Yandruwandha – Yawarrawarrka people who are the traditional custodians.
• The Cooper creek cruise. Australia’s second longest inland waterway. It is home to a wide range of flora and fauna around the creek and waterholes it also has a rich history for the Traditional custodians and the early explorers. The Cooper creek is also the life blood for the Innamincka community providing water for the township.
• Malkumba – Coongie Lakes 4WD Tour. This is an ever changing wetland located in one of the most arid areas of Australia. Malkumba – Coongie lakes is listed as a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance and is recognised as significant feeding and resting area for more than 74 bird species and 13 other wetland dependant species, it is also a deeply spiritual site for Aboriginal groups that have a connection to the area.
• Bus/ car tours. These tours are based around the ill-fated Burke and Wills exploration to the North of Australia. The Explorers sites have memorials at them and storyboards depicting the local flora and fauna that may be seen while on tour and the importance of the traditional custodian’s presence in the area, also the role they played in saving the sole survivor King after Burke, Wills and Grey had perished.
Innamincka Hotel and Motel
The Innamincka Hotel and Motel accommodation are located within the Innamincka Regional Reserve, near the Cooper Creek which is the second largest inland waterway in Australia and home to a vast number of flora and fauna species.
• Flora around the creek and waterholes in the area include Red River Gums (some estimated to be over 800 years old) Coolabahs and other varieties of Gums, after rain there are many varieties of dessert wildflowers.
• Fauna include many species of birds (around 200 different species in the Cooper Basin)
• Some of the pests include rabbits, dingoes, feral pigs and wild camels.
• The local waterhole Cullyamurra is very important to the Yandruwandha and Yawarrawarrka people as the traditional custodians.
