Minjerribah Camping

Minjerribah Camping offers a diverse range of camping and accomodation options in the townships of Point Lookout, Amity Point & Dunwich. Beachfront camping grounds offer powered and unpowered sites for tents, camper trailers and caravans, as well as 20 fully equipped cabins. For a more ‘back to nature’ camping getaway, there are hundreds of camping sites nestled among sand dunes overlooking the island’s iconic beaches.

Accommodation

Flinders Beach Camping

Flinders Beach camp ground consists of twelve beachfront camping areas which are nestled in the Islands dunes. The camp sites are in natural areas and are only accessible by bush tracks, or from the beach outside of high tide times. A 4WDrive vehicle is a necessity for access to these sites. The only facilities provided on Flinders Beach are toilets at a number of key access points. Main Beach stretches for 38kms along the eastern side of the island. Camping is available in fifteen designated areas at the southern end of Main Beach, approximately 17km south of Point Lookout. There is big swell for surfing and excellent beach fishing. There are no facilities and access is by 4WDrive vehicle along the beach.

Amity EcoShacks

The EcoShacks are a new addition, bringing a new and unique ‘Glamping’ experience to Straddie. The EcoShacks feature their own rainwater tanks, large windows, fan cooling, and off-the­-ground positioning to take advantage of the island breezes. Windows and doors are fitted with heavy­-duty roll down canvas zippered screens, and the main door features an inlayed design by local Quandamooka Artist Belinda Close. The EcoShacks face directly onto the beachfront, taking advantage of the magnificent sunsets over Moreton Bay.

Cylinder Beach Camping

Cylinder Beach: This small shady camping ground backs onto one of the most charming beaches on the island, popular with both swimmers and surfers. With a direct northerly orientatio and a sunny outlook, the camping ground enjoys protection from the prevailing winds.
The nearby iconic North Gorge Headlands Walk offers breathtaking views out over the Pacific Ocean, and the opportunity to spot dolphins, loggerhead turtles and manta rays as they enjoy their marine paradise. 60 unpowered tent sites, 8 powered sites.

Adder Rock Camping

Adder Rock Campiing Area: Situated on the north eastern side of theisland in the township of Point Lookout, this camping ground offers an abundance of shady campsites, and is sheltered from the ocean breezes behind native tea tree and pandanus forests. The beach directly in front of the camping ground is patrolled during holiday periods, so is ideal for familes, and the camp ground offers direct access to both Flinders Beacch & Home Beach.. This is an ideal base for those who enjoy snorkelling & scuba diving, with some of the best dive spots in southeast Queensland only minutes away. Sites: 107 unpowered tent sites, 13 unpowered campervan, trailer, caravan sites, 26 powered sites and 7 cabins.

Amity Point Camping

Amity Point Camping Area: Boasting magnificent views over Moreton Bay to Moreton Island and the Glass House Mountains, this camping ground is conveniently located adjacent to the township of Amity Point. The township has the atmosphere of a small seaside fishing village, with a small grocery store, cafe, bait, ice and fuel. A tranquil family setting, this large camping ground offers sites in sunny open areas and shady glades under native cotton trees, and features a netted swimming enclosure at the northern end. 143 unpowered tent sites, 28 unpowered campervan, trailer, caravan sites, 23 powered. Home Beach Sites: 12 unpowered, 10 powered sites.

Bradbury's Camping

Popular with boaties and fishing enthusiasts, this small camp ground is a short walk from the One Mile jetty and 1 km from the ferry terminal in Dunwich. Facing west, the camp ground is located directly on Moreton bay, and enjoys magnificent sunsets. Located within the township of Dunwich, the historic Dunwich Cemetery, Little Ship Club, North Stradbroke Island Museum and Aboriginal art galleries are all within walking distance.
