Mon Repos Turtle Centre
Mon Repos Turtle Centre is located in Mon Repos Conservation Park, managed by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships, Department of Environment and Science. Turtle Encounter tours are conducted during the nesting and turtle breeding season. During the tours, visitors get to experience nesting and hatchling turtles in their natural environment while undertaking a guided interpretative tour with a QPWS ranger or volunteer.
At The Mon Repos Turtle Centre visitors can get a glimpse year-round of the spectacular nesting and hatching marine turtles by visiting the Turtle tales display, a self-guided area, enjoying the immersive theatrette and listening to talks by staff.
More broadly the Mon Repos Conservation Park offers a slice of nature for both local residents and visitors to the area, with walking tracks, bicycle trails to encourage people to immerse themselves in nature.

Mon Repos Turtle Centre
The Mon Repos Turtle Centre is dedicated to marine turtle research, protection and education. Here you can learn about the special journey turtles and people have taken at Mon Repos, immerse in Turtle Tales and browse the gift shop. Spend an inspiring time at the Turtle Centre exploring Turtle Tales. Submerse yourself in the lives of marine turtles, researchers and rangers in our new immersive theatre and interactive displays. Relax in the theatre and enjoy the story of loggerheads told through film, and light and soundscapes. Kids, have fun exploring the tools and techniques used to look after our turtles in the Junior Discovery zone. Test your knowledge of sea turtles by completing the activities and puzzles.
Turtle Encounters Tour
From November to late March visitors have a unique opportunity to catch a glimpse of a turtle’s world—at least for one night! Mon Repos is special! It supports the largest concentration of nesting marine turtles on the eastern Australian mainland and has the most significant loggerhead turtle nesting population in the South Pacific region. The success of nesting and hatching turtles at Mon Repos is critical for the survival of the endangered loggerhead turtle. Witness an ancient life cycle of the animal kingdom, as majestic sea turtles make their journey to the shore to lay their eggs. Delight at the sight of their young, hatching weeks later, and making their perilous journey to the sea.
