Sustainability Commitment
On the Wallaby Eco Lodge & Tours is dedicated to leading the way in sustainable tourism and is on a mission to become the “Greenest Lodge in the World.” Committed to environmental stewardship, the lodge implements a wide range of eco-friendly practices, from solar energy and water conservation to waste reduction and sustainable building materials. Guests are encouraged to engage in nature-based experiences while respecting and preserving the surrounding environment. By integrating sustainability into every aspect of their operations, On the Wallaby is setting new standards for responsible travel, ensuring that future generations can enjoy the beauty of the natural world. We’re on our way to becoming the “Greenest Lodge in the World,” and sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We’re proud of our impressive green credentials, including Eco Tourism certification, and we take great care to minimise our environmental impact through practices like solar energy, recycling, water use, and even operating our own worm farm. We’ve worked closely with local Indigenous communities to ensure our plantings are native and sustainable, and we actively engage in community projects, such as tree planting. Our water management system is one of our most innovative features, with three-quarters of the lodge’s roof channels water to our Fountain of Youth drinking fountain. Our massive solar system can store 6 kW of power in batteries, keeping the lodge running efficiently. We also run a “B and B” for bees, and our garden is brimming with homegrown vegetables and fruit, ensuring fresh, local produce for our guests. At On the Wallaby, we’re not just about offering an eco-friendly stay – we’re committed to preserving the environment and creating a positive impact for future generations.
