Phillip Island Nature Parks Holiday Activities Program

Come and join our rangers on an exciting adventure during the School Holidays. The Holiday Activities Programs feature a range of great adventures including: rockpool rambles, rockpool spotlights, Woolamai sunset walks, koala prowls and nature walks.

Penguin Parade

This is Australia’s most popular natural wildlife attraction where each night at sunset, the world’s smallest penguins emerge from the sea and waddle ashore to their sand dune burrows. This is a truly memorable natural wildlife experience. The elevated boardwalks and viewing stands allow you to enjoy all the ‘penguin action’ without disturbing them or their burrow homes.

Churchill Island

Step back in time and visit this heritage listed island and farm. Churchill Island has heritage buildings with heritage collection on display, historic gardens, a visitor centre with café, retail and interpretative displays, walking tracks and much more. Enjoy daily farm demonstrations and tours with friendly staff or simply take in spectacular views over Western Port bay on the deck.

Guided Tour - Churchill Island

Uncover the long history of this island as you take a step back in time with your ranger and explore Churchill Island’s extensive grounds, farm cottages and beautiful gardens. Unlock many of the secrets of the lives of those who came before as you explore the restored homestead.

Discover Phillip Island’s natural wonders with the experienced and passionate education and interpretation rangers. The Education team offers a range of programs suitable for Primary, Secondary, VCE, Tertiary and international students.

Koala Conservation Reserve

Come ‘face to face’ with koalas in their natural habitat along the treetop boardwalks through the Australian bushland. Wander the trails through the natural Australian bushland and enjoy the abundant bird life. The woodland is home to many animals including wallabies, echidnas and bats.

Penguins Plus

Inspired by the natural elements of the surrounding landscape, the new Penguins Plus platform mirrors the coves of Phillip Island’s spectacular southern coastline and offers visitors unprecedented, up-close viewing of the little penguins as they waddle along the most popular pathway at the Penguin Parade.

Guided Penguin Tour

Join your ranger guide for an informative journey through the penguin colony, enjoying their commentary via your personal headset. Take your seat in the wonderfully located beachfront viewing stand. Use the supplied binoculars to try and spot the penguins gathering in the water before they make their way across the beach to their burrows. Minimum age 12 years.

Ultimate Adventure Tour

Penguin Discovery Experience

Discover the little penguins in their natural habitat with this premium beachfront viewing experience. This Eco experience will guide you along a secluded boardwalk and immerse you within the Penguin Parade colony so close you can hear the penguin’s chatter.

Underground Viewing Experience

Experience what it’s like to peer out from a burrow, in the Underground Viewing experience. You’ll be protected from the elements and get the best eye-level view of little penguins waddling right by the 25-metre viewing window as they make their way along the popular ‘penguin highway’. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Guided Tour – Koala Conservation Reserve

With an accredited ranger and enter the natural bushland setting the koalas call home, exploring the treetop boardwalks for tell-tale signs of this iconic marsupial.
