Sustainability Commitment
Portland Roads - Sailing the Whitsundays is proudly Carbon Neutral. Indeed, we offset 10 tonnes more than required and encourage all Marine Park operators to do the same. We work with and employ local first nation team members. We sponsor coral branches in the Marine Park through the Reef Restoration Foundation (and encourage our guests to do the same). Our Marine Biologist Josh has completed a 6-week stint in the Maldives on a reef restoration project with CoraLive.org. Returning to Australia we will sponsor him to sign on with (and where possible), work with the teams at Reef Restoration Foundation and Reef Ecologic. Josh will also participate in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Parks “Master Reef Guide Program”. We sort and received permission from elders to ply the Ngaro waters of the Whitsundays and humbly accepted plaques from our First Nation family; Inviting us and our guests to sail in their wake and walk in their footsteps.
