Sustainable Practices: We are dedicated to minimizing our environmental footprint. Our efforts include reducing waste through recycling and future composting programs, and utilizing energy-efficient technologies to conserve resources. Local Farm-to-Table Cuisine: Our restaurants and bar prioritize locally sourced, organic ingredients to reduce food miles and support local farmers and suppliers. Our Cultural Pillars First Nations Engagement: We actively engage with the Wadandi community, offering guests opportunities to learn about the rich history, traditions, and art of the local First Nations people. Art: Our hotel showcases First Nations art in its decor, providing an authentic glimpse into the region’s cultural heritage. Respectful Tourism: We promote responsible tourism, encouraging guests to respect First Nations customs and traditions. Additionally, we refrain from selling merchandise derived from heritage artefacts or culturally significant items and advise our guests against purchasing such items. Our Achievements: Refillable Water Stations: We have installed refillable water stations in all food and beverage outlets to reduce single-use plastics. Elimination of Single-Use Plastics: We have eliminated single-use dry amenities such as toothbrushes, combs, bin liners, and shower caps, replacing them with refillable amenities like body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Educational Materials: We provide in-room educational materials promoting towel and bedding reuse, and guidance on the responsible use of amenities. Future Initiatives We are continuously enhancing our sustainability efforts. Our future initiatives: Carbon Footprint Offset Program: Introducing a program to offset our carbon footprint. Food Waste Reduction: Implementing measures to reduce and measure food waste, such as Winnow, an artificial intelligence system that scans food waste. Sustainable Stay Guide: Developing a guest guide to a sustainable stay at Pullman Bunker Bay, accessible through our digital compendium.
