Spirit of Hervey Bay provides 1/2 day tours during the school holidays and 3/4 day tours at all other times during the whale watching season. The Spirit of Hervey Bay is a remarkably comfortable and stable vessel offering plenty of space to move around, with five levels of viewing platforms you won’t feel overcrowded. Be inspired as we enter the spiritual world of the Humpback Whale. Cruise the sheltered waters Platypus Bay, enjoying the breathtaking sights as we travel past the beautiful white sandy beaches of K’gari (formerly Fraser Island) and venture into the whales’ playground. Feel the excitement and anticipation as we get closer to the whales’ sanctuary, scanning the horizon for our first splash or blow from a mighty humpback whale. Loud tail and pec slaps, spectacular breaches, curious spy hops and close encounters are just some of the antics the whales display to keep us captivated. Our friendly and knowledgeable crew will keep you enlightened along the journey.

Yahoo whale watching offers the adventure tourist a unique experience with speed and waterline whales at a premium. Low passenger numbers, 32 maximum, means everyone has front row viewing. Lowest deck level to the water of any vessel, making for a terrific up close and personal whale watching experience. Full walk around deck means you are virtually at the whales’ level.
