Sustainability Commitment
At Sunlover Reef Cruises, protecting the Great Barrier Reef is central to everything we do. We’re proud to be a long-standing Ecotourism Australia Hall of Fame operator and an active partner in a range of environmental and research programs led by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA). We contribute to reef health monitoring through Eye on the Reef, with our team and guests participating in rapid surveys and data collection during our Marine Biologist for a Day, and Reef to Rainforest education programs. Our crew also play a hands-on role in the Crown-of-Thorns Starfish control program, helping to protect coral ecosystems. Through the Master Reef Guide initiative, our staff receive expert training to interpret the reef environment and inspire visitors to care for its future. We’re also proud supporters of the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre, assisting with transport, logistics, and turtle releases from our Moore Reef pontoon. In partnership with the Resilient Reefs Foundation, we continue to support coral propagation projects.
