Sustainability Commitment
The Tarkine Wilderness Lodge embraces off-grid infrastructure and boasts a large solar array making the lodge totally self-sufficient while reducing greenhouse emissions. Rainwater (some of the cleanest in the world) is collected from the roof and supplies all internal taps, showers and vanities. Dam water is used for the surrounding gardens and toilets in the Lodge.

Only 35 minutes drive from Burnie Airport and 1.5 hours drive from Devonport (Spirit of Tasmania ferry terminal).

Located just 35 minutes from the Burnie airport Tarkine Wilderness Walks offers fully guided walks through the pristine Tarkine Rainforest.
Your experienced guides will escort you on a safe yet breathtaking stroll through the largest temperate rainforest in the Southern Hemisphere, providing visitors with plenty of information on this ancient 60 million year old forest home to many threatened and endangered species. All walking tracks are minimum impact and rated easy to moderate.
