In 2021, owners Roy and Ros moved the cottage on the back of a truck from nearby Toowoomba to their large country garden near Allora. They then restored, renovated and furnished it sustainably, upcycling when possible, choosing new judiciously and working with locals to create a bespoke retreat. Then slowly and mindfully, the cottage was filled with layer upon layer of curated vintage selections, time honoured curios and luxurious natural textiles. The Nesting Post is completely off grid with electricity is generated via a solar battery storage system, rainwater is harvested and effluent is treated on site. Rest assured though, you’ll also find conveniences and comforts of contemporary living. Be nurtured by a slow life for a while!
