Cliff Top and Grand Canyon Walk

The Grand Canyon walk is one of our signature canyon walks in the Blue Mountains World Heritage area, giving access to remote wilderness, ancient rainforest, deep gorges and canyons, amazing sandstone escarpments 300m high and valleys 800m deep. Hiking at creek level, we traverse a winding path along the base of the canyon. This walk is a medium grade fitness over the 6km wilderness experience with rock hopping in the base of the canyon and climbing sandstone steps before finishing in a superb eucalypt forest on the edge of the wilderness.

Wilderness Walk

Your qualified guide will tell you about the local history and point out some interesting land marks on the horizon. Where does the blue haze come from? He will talk about the lifestyle of the Aboriginal people who lived here for thousands of years.
On your walk across the cliff top you will walk through beautiful fern gullies with abundance of native wildlife and cross small waterfalls fed by underground springs. Moving between fern gullies, woodlands and open heath you may meet some of our inquisitive wildlife while you take in the natural beauty of the Blue Mountains. We will look at the importance of preserving the natural environment and the effect on rare and endangered species.
