6 Day Heysen Trail Walking Tour
The Flinders Ranges offers some of the most diverse wilderness walking in Australia.
To explore the Flinders is to experience the essence of our great country. Sir Hans Heysen remarked it was akin to seeing ‘the bones of nature laid bare’. With its’ rugged mountain peaks, immense gorges, sweeping arid desert country and alpine like forests, the Flinders Ranges is a truly unforgettable experience. The Heysen Trail is rated as one of the premier long distance walks of the world and Trek Tours Australia takes you to the heart of it – the Northern Flinders Ranges.
In February 2016 the Flinders Ranges National Park was officially renamed the Ikara Flinders Ranges National Park, in recognition of its traditional Aboriginal owners. The new name incorporates an Adnyamathanha word, Ikara, which means “meeting place” reflecting the traditional name for Wilpena Pound — a natural amphitheatre of mountains forming one of the most prominent features of the Ranges. It has always been a significant part of Adnyamathanha culture and the traditional owners maintain Dreamtime stories about the Pound and how it was formed.
Our all inclusive, fully accommodated trek has been designed to showcase the highlights of this world class walking trail. Sharing our passion and local in-depth knowledge we give you a truly memorable walking experience.

Today, more than a third of the island is declared conservation or national park and has five significant wilderness protection areas. Our food is a real highlight of this trek – we pride ourselves on serving fresh, nutritious and tasty meals and snacks. This is a day pack walking holiday. Spring and autumn are the best times to visit the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail as it enjoys mild sunny days and cooler evenings. We look forward to seeing you over there.

6 Day Jatbula Trail Walking Tour
The Arnhem Land escarpment country is a vast wilderness area in the Top End of Australia. The Jatbula Trail takes us deep into this wild region.

6 Day Bungle Bungle Walking Tour
Rising impressively out of the Ord River Valley in the remote East Kimberly wilderness, the Bungle Bungle Range is the most outstanding example of cone kast sandstone mountains anywhere on earth.
The World Heritage Purnunulu National Park offers a unique trekking experience as we journey deep into the magnificent sandstone gorges of the central mountain range of the Bungles.
The local Aboriginal people of this rocky outpost – which borders the great deserts to the south – have a deep connection with the gorges and creek systems, which cut spectacularly through the landscape. There are significant burial and art sites scattered throughout the park and our trek itinerary and guides are sensitive to these special places. Our trek takes us into Piccaninny Gorge, located geographically in the centre of the Bungle Bungle Ranges.
We establish a basecamp enabling our group to explore the extensive sandstone chasms of the Five Fingers, located beyond the imposing sheer cliffs of Piccaninny Gorge. The trekking here is unmarked and exploratory in nature; we spend three full days exploring the wonders of the secluded and sheltered micro-habitats of the Fingers. Our five night adventure allows us to experience the unique wonder of this ancient land. This is an unparalleled trekking adventure of a lifetime.

Our arrival at the top of Twin Falls on the final day reveals stunning views of this famous gorge area.
